Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Darling & Sweetheart

FINALLY! They have arrived! You can find them at Priceline for RRP $17.95AUD a pop and i'm sure they'll start popping up around all the other usual Revlon outlets shortly.

I'm talking about the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. I stood, swatched, looked at swatches on blogs until I finally decided on 2 colours; Darling & Sweetheart.

This product is not to be confused with the Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain & Balm...that product is a texta like lipstain with a balm on the other end, I reviewed one on my old blog if you'd like to have a squizz here. Way to confuse everyone Revlon.

This is what Revlon has to say about the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - It’s a pampering balm fused with a lightweight lipstain in an adorable chubby crayon. Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain gives softer, smoother lips with a perfect flush of color that lasts hour after hour.

In short, it's Revlons take on Clinique's popular Chubby Sticks... I don't own any but the packaging etc is very very similar and i've heard reports the formula is even the same.

So how do these wear? I've only tried them out each for a short time as I only got them yesterday but Sweetheart certainly worked as a stain, there were even remnants of it on my lips this morning after I put it on for my swatches yesterday afternoon. Darling is a little sheerer and won't stain as much but it's quite long lasting.

They smell of peppermint when you first apply them and they feel nice and moisturizing. So far I think they are pretty rad!

Update! I wrote this post the day after I purchased these, now i've worn these babies for almost a whole week I can give a better update...sometimes it's good to draft and update :) Darling wears nicely and through 1 cup of coffee but will be gone by lunch time. Sweetheart is an absolute trooper! Still going strong after lunch with a slight pink stain to the lip. If your lips are dry, keep a good lip balm on hand to keep it from looking cracking and crappy.
Darling is a lilac pink and unlike anything I currently own, I can imagine it looking amazing with a smokey eye!

Sweetheart was a no brainer for me, a bright pink it's actually quite different to the other pinks I own. I thought it would be a dupe for Sweet Tart from the Lip Butter range but this is a little darker and brighter. I love this colour! You'll see below how it just brightens my face up. Loves it!

Have you tried these out yet? What's your favourite colour?

I can see myself picking up more of these in the future!

P.S. Because I love you guys, if you head into Priceline they currently have BOGOF (Buy One Get One Free) on all lip and nail prodz, so grab 2 of these for $17.95...BARGAINOUS! (Valid to 3rd December 2012...soz if you're reading this a little late)

Product Disclosure: Bought with my own moola, plus I had a Priceline voucher because i'm a bit of a Priceline Ho!

I love Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters!

This post is a long time coming, i've had these for months! In fact I bought them on Ebay even before they were released in Australia. They've been out for a few months now and I thought i'd still post this because they really are amazing and one of my favourite releases this year.

Revlon Lip Butters are in the same vain as the sheer/moisturising/glossy lip colours that the higher end brands were all bringing out.. think Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks with a fraction of the cost (well if you buy outside of Australia ;) ).

Let's talk packaging and how much I love it. I was already a fan of the packaging of the regular Colorburst Lipsticks but these are quite cute with a sheer matte case in the corresponding colour to the lipstick. This makes it easy to find the colour your after in the morning unlike other nondescript lipstick packaging (Looking at you MAC).

The formula is lovely, it's smooth and gives a little shine to the lip. One thing I will mention though is that these are VERY soft so be careful. Maybe chuck them in the fridge on hot days if they seem to be melting at all.

As mentioned before I bought mine as a set on Ebay entitled brights included Cherry Tart, Candy Apple, Tutti Frutti, Sweet Tart & Lollipop (I love the names of these shades too!) these were all the colours I wanted to try anyway so it worked out well and I think I paid around $50 including shipping. FYI These retail for $21.95AUD in Australia.

Out of all the colours I have, Sweet Tart is my most used and most loved!

Revlon are absolutely kicking it out of the park with their recent lip released, and I heard on the grapevine (twitter...) that the new Just Bitten Lip Stain Balms are rolling out in Priceline stores. I can't wait to get my mitts on those and I'll be sure to let you know what I think.

You can find the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters in the usual department stores and pharmacies that stock Revlon products and of course Priceline.

These items were purchased by me.

Revlon Moon Drops Lipstick in Blase Apricot & Lilac Champagne - Rare Find!

I found these lipsticks hanging about in a discount beauty store (Cosmo Cosmetics, i'll put where they are at the end of this post). They only cost me $7.00 each!

The Revlon Moon Drops lipsticks aren't readily available in Australia but they seem to be available in the US, so if you can get your hands on them, lucky you!

The lipsticks themselves are moisturising and long lasting, the pink colour especially lasted ages on me even to the point it kind of stained my lips.

The one thing I don't like is the smell, they smell a bit "older lady" to me, it's a small thing but I thought i'd better mention it.

The 2 colours I got were brights from the range...surprise surprise! It seemed my local Cosmo Cosmetics had quite a good range of colours as well so I may go back and get a few more!

The colours I picked up were Blase Apricot & Lilac Champagne

You can find Cosmo Cosmetics at these locations (I'm not entirely sure if they all sell the same products though, sorry!)

Also, I'm just getting these locations from google so if the stores are no longer there... oops! I do know for sure the Parramatta and Merrylands stores are open :)

Lip Quickie! featuring Revlon Cherries In The Snow

Yesterday I mentioned how I was trying to go through my backlog of swatches etc I did yonks ago, well here is another!

Firstly, I apologize but this lippie isn't readily available at the usual Revlon stockists I believe it was a limited edition but it certainly is available on Ebay for a couple of bucks!

I first saw this lipstick on one of Cami Loves Kiwi's videos (check out her channel, she is awesome!) and while our colourings may not be similar the colour was just so beautiful I wanted to have it in my collection. It's just the most gorgeous deep raspberry colour and so perfect for winter, It needed to be mine.

So you can imagine my excitement while out on a trip to Paddy's Markets with the boyfriend looking for Transformers accessories for his car, I made him stop to look at the beauty stands which generally sell discontinued items pretty cheap and there it was amongst a bunch of other Revlon lippies.. CHERRIES IN THE SNOW!! wheeeeeeeeeee! So I hauled ass to the sales person and paid my $7 for it, yep $7!

So here it is in all it's glory! There is also a matching nail polish as well but I do think that is a permanent item with Revlon.

Revlon Top Speed Nail Polishes & Glam Vans!

I was recently invited to attend a fashion show and sit front row (wowza!) as part of 30 Days of Fashion & Beauty. The show presented by Revlon Top Speed was all about the springs hottest upcoming trend, colour blocking! Now i'm no fashion blogger and still don't think i deserve front row at a fashion show but I do know one thing. The colour blocking trend is hot! Not so sure I could pull it off myself but see below for my own personal way of colour blocking...kind of :)

Now I did my blogger duty and took photos at the fashion show but guess what, my camera had a bitch fit and i've lost the photos :(

Instead I have my own version of colour blocking and some pretty rad coloured polishes from Revlon to show you instead.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="588" caption="Revlon Top Speed Nail Enamels in - Sheer Cotton, Chili, Electric, Royal & Jelly"][/caption]

I found these polishes did live up to the name and were a quick dry polish, great news for girls on the go! I found the formula to Sheer Cotton needs a few coats to build up but if you enjoy sheer polishes it would be fine for you, I also found this one was a little streaky whereas all the other applied really smoothly and easily for me. Faves are definitely Chili & Jelly and Electric is a bit of fun!

Now ready for my colour block/skittle mani!

Now you can get your hands (haha get it?) on a free manicure and possibly a free bottle of nail polish! FREE!!

The Revlon Top Speed Glam Vans are making their way around Sydney see below for details! If you do manage to get along i'd love to see your mani, maybe they'll do a skittle mani for you :)

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain - Flame

So one of my HG (holy grail) items is Covergirl lipstain in Blush but when I saw these new ones by Revlon I knew I had to give it a go. I picked this up ages ago on discount but haven't gotten around to reviewing it...oops!

The colour I purchased was Flame (IS THIS BURNING AN ETERNAL FLAAAAAAME) it's a bright red and a great alternative to a red lip if your a lazy bum like me and can't be bothered reapplying your lippie during the day.

The wear of this is great, it fades nicely and evenly and the colour packs a punch!

My only gripe is the lip balm on the end, it is very small but also I went to apply it on a warm/humid day in Sydney and it just smooshed from the heat and has become pretty much unusable.

One thing I noticed and this may be the font nerd in me, but the font is very similar to the Twilight font, anyone else notice that? Next I want to try Passion which is a  bright pink.

If you want to check out these lip stains they retail for $17.95AUD and you can get them from department stores, priceline and pharmacies.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick - Melonade

I have a problem, I am obsessed with bright lips! I was playing around in the beauty aisles at Target going on a lipstick swatching spree and looked down at my hand and all I saw were brights! Pinks, Corals, Reds, Oh My!

One of the colours I swatched was by Revlon in the colour Melonade from the current Summer Safari collection. I didn't buy it straight away but after my brain telling me non stop all week "Anita, you need that colour" and with the Target 25% off beauty prodz, it was like fate. I had to have it! So I hightailed it to my local Target after work on Thursday night, and picked it up for a measly $16! (25% discount is still on until tomorrow - 3rd Nov)

I'm so glad I did, I think this will be a summer staple shade for me and may even be the shade I leave in my handbag for touch ups :) (Currently that shade is MAC Lovelorn if you wanted to know)

This is my first lipstick from the Super Lustrous range and i'm really impressed. The pigment is great and it is moisturizing. The colour itself is gorgeous, a bright coral that isn't too much. Loooove it! It looks quite red in the tube on my photos but it's more pinky in person.

Loving... Revlon ColorBurst Lipstick

Lately i've been on a real lipstick kick, especially pink lipstick. Last weekend I was in Melbourne and one night after mum and I had dinner in Chinatown we went into Target for a look around and I decided to try one of these lipsticks, I got Carnation. Fast forward to 2 days later in Priceline I had to get another and got Mauve.

I like these lipsticks because they don't feel drying and they have great lasting power. The colour pay-off is also very very good.

Looking at the packaging, they look like one of the higher end brands (I think they were channeling Chanel in the design...just quietly)

There are currently 15 shades in the range, and I hope they bring out more! They retail at $23.95 AUD but keep an eye out for specials, I picked mine up at Priceline for $18.95 AUD.

Swatches!

Don't forget it's Liptember! Check out the website for details on how you can help and don't forget to pop into Priceline and purchase the special Burt's Bees Liptember Lip Shimmer. I'll be getting mine tonight! :)

Revlon PhotoReady Foundation – My Thoughts…

Apologies if you have gotten this twice... for some reason it posted before I was finished... grrrrr

Rather then call this a review, i'd rather call it my thoughts as it's more about how it has done for me.

I bought this awhile ago now and wanted to fully trial it before giving any thoughts on the product.

Here is a picture of the bottle (not my own, it's from http://www.revlon.com.au/)

This is what the Revlon site has to say about this foundation -

Delivers soft, luminous airbrushed finish in any light

•Photochromatic pigments bend, reflect and diffuse light to erase every flaw

•Complete yet undetectable coverage

•Oil free, Fragrance Free

•SPF 20

___________________________________________________________

Onto my thoughts about it, for a bit of background on my skin it is quite dry and especially at the moment since the weather has gotten colder in Sydney. I also have quite a bit of redness in my cheeks so I need a fairly decent coverage foundation to cover that up.

I apply this one with my fingers, it blends quite easily and it doesn't set as quick as the ColorStay foundation. I found the coverage was a light/medium coverage on my skin which for me is okay for weekends when i'm going to the shops and only want a little bit of makeup on (if any at all). However for work I like to look more "polished" so prefer my ColourStay as it has a better coverage.

I also found that this foundation enhanced the dryness to my skin a little and that I don't like.

Quite a few people have mentioned the "sparkle" factor in this as well, I didn't notice myself looking like a Cullen in the sun however up really really close I noticed a slight shimmer. I didn't hate it though!

As for how it photographs, I apologize I don't have any pictures of me with this on... I think I deleted the ones off my camera I took a little while ago. I honestly don't really notice a difference anyway to any other foundation that I use.

Overall it isn't a bad foundation, would I repurchase? No... For one thing Revlon is quite expensive here in Australia, correct me if i'm wrong but the RRP of PhotoReady here is $37.95, that's certainly not "cheap" in my books. The good thing though is you can often get deals at the department stores and Priceline, I got mine with a free eye product of my choice so that sweetened the deal a little.

Have you tried out this foundation and did it work for you?
