Currently obsessed with a drink

It's cold and I think this is the perfect time to write about this little drink i've been indulging in of late!

A few weeks ago I was in freeeeeeeeeeezing cold Canberra, checking out the Groovin The Moo festival (it was fun and i'll do a post about it soon :P). The festival was around 0 degrees all day, that is not exaggerating!

My dad managed to find this miracle drink (well it's not totally a miracle, it's quite common) but i've been addicted to it ever since! It was so warming and soothing and it's so lovely to have on those chilly nights.

It's also great if your feeling a bit fluey, it'll clear you right out!

Best of all, most of the things you'll already have in your kitchen cupboard.

So all you need is - Lemon, Ginger (ground or fresh) & Cinnamon (ground or sticks) & a cup of water.

Put the ingredients in a saucepan and taste as you add, I haven't put any measurements because this is totally a taste thing! You like more cinnamon? Throw more in!

Stir and bring to the boil, as demonstrated below.... gosh I should be on Masterchef!

Once done, pour into your favourite mug, throw on your snuggly dressing gown and watch Jerseylicious or TOWIE just like I did here! Like my mug? I got it from Disneyland Paris when I went overseas for the first time in 2001! It's one of my favourite possessions :)

Saturday Night and My New Gossip Girl Scarf

Right now I am on Twitter trying to find out the blog that featured this scarf I bought and totally enabled me! The powers of Twitter are great like that, you have a question and you have 100's of people willing to help.

I still haven't found said blogger but if it was you, please comment below and take this as a massive THANK YOU!

So any-whoo, the scarf is quite similar to one worn by Serena on Gossip Girl, I loved it on her (let's face it I love most of what that girl wears) and since this winter i'm trying to do the whole scarf thing, I knew I had to have it when I saw it on the mystery blog.

Here is said scarf on Serena (Blake Lively) on Gossip Girl, The scarf she is wearing is by a brand called Theodora & Callum (I don't think it's available anymore but you'd be looking at a price tag between $155-$185USD for the original)

If you're a bit of a budget girl, look no further then Sussan for a great knock off/inspired version of said scarf. I picked mine up with an additional 20% off!

I bought this on Saturday and decided I needed to wear it out on Saturday night for dinner with friends and decided to match my makeup with my scarf! So here's the look I went for.

The products I used to create this look are -

Foundation - Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation
Concealer - Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer
Eye Primer - Urban Decay Primer Potion
Eyeshadow - Urban Decay Naked Palette 2 (Chopper over the lid & Bootycall as the highlight blending colour & inner corner), Urban Decay Naked Palette 1 (Smog in the crease and outer corner)
Eyeliner - Face of Australia Liquid Liner
Blush - Becca Lip & Cheek Tint in Tuberose
Lips - Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti

NOTD - Princess Nails

I think this look might be slightly inspired by my new blog layout, not quite galaxy nails (although i'm going to attempt those soon, results good or bad will be documented!) but kinda pink galaxy nails, I think they look princessey (hence the name i've given them). I'm only showing 3 nails because if you can see i've hidden major chipage on the index finger! Whoops! Oh well just means another NOTD to come soon :P

You can find Orly polishes for RRP $18.95, OPI for RRP $19.95 and Seche Vite...i'm unsure but I buy it from a beauty supply store for $10.00.... also the internet is a wonderful place to find discounted (for us anyway!) Nail Polishes.

It's Heavy

Today I hit a great milestone in the gym, so I thought i'd share/brag a little about it.

If you haven't read my previous post on the training I do basically Saturdays for me are power lifting sessions with an olympic bar and weights... just like the image above, only I don't wear booty shorts or a crop top!

We are currently smashing our legs and i'm proud to say I squatted (like the above picture exactly) 60kgs! I only did one set of 3 and then another set of 2... My mind got in the way in between sets and the weights felt 1000x heavier, my PT told me to clear my mind take some deep breaths refocus and try again so I did...it may have only been 2 but the fact I still went in and did it made me pleased with myself!

The other goal I hit today was my deadlift, 70kgs! Last time I deadlifted 70kgs I had all sorts of trouble and it got too much and I ended up frustrated with myself basically throwing in the towel. Today I completed my reps with good form and it wasn't as hard!

There was even a gym rat there (you know, big gym dude who looks like he lifts everyday?) he was shocked by the weight I was lifting (being a female and a shorty) and he was even doing sets on my bar with my weights while I was having my breaks! He did knock out more reps then I did but still.... He did the same weight! lol!

Sometimes all it takes is some clarity of the mind and you can work your way through it.

Afterwards I treated myself to some yummy wholemeal sourdough toast with avocado, feta and mint at my favourite cafe Circa Espresso (I should do a review on them!).

Now i'm thinking a nap might be in order this afternoon...heavy lifting makes me tired!

Oh Hey!

Oh Hi There!

image sourced from http://www.weheartit.com

If you've found this post then it looks like you found my new space on the web, i'm still settling in and unpacking the crockery at the moment but i'm enjoying my new digs.

So why the change? Well for some reason i've been feeling out of sorts with my blog of late and kind of wanted to strip back to basics and start over... After 2 years blogging that sounds kind of insane right? I don't know if what i'm doing is the right thing but it feels right, a do-over I guess.

I'll still be talking about beauty shizz, because let's face it I love talking about that! However i'm also going to add in other things, whatever floats my boat or tickles my fancy at the time as they say. Call it selfish or whatever but my original blog was somewhat of that idea and I guess it kind of strayed from that and just became another generic beauty blog. Don't get me wrong I'm an avid beauty blog reader and there are some amazing blogs out there but I was feeling like I was losing my voice (ironically I am getting a sore throat today too) and feeling pressure to constantly do reviews on new products and swatches and ughhh it's hurting my head thinking about it!

I'm also back on blogspot/blogger! I guess some people would see it as a step backward but again it's back to the going back to basics of blogging thing i'm all about.

You'll still be seeing my mug on YouTube as I kinda really enjoy that side of it, sometimes it's easier to get home from a long day at work and talk in front of a camera rather then sit in front of a computer and type (I do that all day anyway!). I haven't decided if i'll make a new YouTube account yet or just stick with my current one.

Thanks for reading this if you got this far! Hope you stick around and follow me on this new bloggy journey of mine.... big hugs xx

Oh also, an awesome thing about going back to blogspot... I HAVE GOOGLE FRIEND CONNECT AGAIN! Follow me if you'd like to hear my musings :P
