This is my first lot of NYX products and also my first order from www.crushcosmetics.com.au both have turned out to be great!

Lets start with crushcosmetics, I made my order on Friday night and it arrived today (Wednesday) mind you we had a public holiday in there too! so quick delivery! My goodies were also packaged lovely in some pink tissue paper so it was like opening a present for myself. So thank you crushcosmetics for a wonderful breezy order!

They have a great range of products that aren't readily available here in Australia and they are also at a great price point too, all of my products ended up costing $41 (including shipping)

Now onto what I got! I will try and do more in depth reviews on the products and how I like them in the next few weeks after i've had a bit of a play with them.

In the meantime here are some pictures of the goodies & swatches! Prices are all in $AUD

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil - Yoghurt (top), Cottage Cheese (bottom) - $4.95

Eyes! How to look more awake, some reviews & my eye!

Depending on where you live, in Sydney this morning it was C-O-L-D! Don't get me wrong I love winter (there is nothing better then lounging around in trackies watching bad reality tv shows...addicted to beauty, i'm looking at you!).

However when you have to get up at 6am to get ready for work, winter isn't so fun. Especially after a long weekend of sleep ins and afternoon naps (can you tell I love sleeping?)

So this morning I woke up, looking not quite so bright eyed and bushy tailed as I would have hoped so I decided to try and wake my face up with the use of makeup... fake it till you make it people :)

For me, looking more awake is generally some black mascara (brightens my eyes), a little eyeshadow on the lid and inner corner (my favourite for this is Stila Kitten), and some Coral blush (Benefit Coralista) and done!

So onto my new products and reviews!

However, last week while I was battling illness and feeling sorry for myself I decided to pick up the new issue of Grazia with a freebie on it. Gotta love this freebies. I'm sure most of you beauty savvy readers picked this up as well, it was a full sized tube of Benefit Ooh La Lift, instant under eye brightening boost.

Don't you just adore Benefit's packaging, I do!

Now I have added this to my don't look like a zombie routine in the morning and it really does make a difference. Honestly, it's just a brightening concealer product but it's something I haven't tried before and am so far loving the results. I'd even go as far to say that I'd purchase this full price (or on Strawberrynet if they had it, sorry I still have a budget to ahere to!)

Have you seen this ad on telly?

The ad did what it was meant to, made me go "I need that mascara so I can look as good as Drew Barrymore in that ad". Seriously, doesn't she look amazing!

So on a jaunt to the local woolies I saw the bright yellow tube staring at me saying "buy me, buy me" and having no self control... I did!

Mind you I just repurchased a tube of regular Lash Blast a week ago, but we'll ignore that...

Do I like this mascara?... Yes Do I love it? No...

Lash Blast Regular (which is what i'll call it) is so much better. I discovered I need both length and fullness in a mascara, this just provides length. Here is a picture of my eye with it on.

I probabaly should have taken a comparison photo with Lash Blast regular too but I didn't think of that at the time.

I did have a genius idea though! LAYER THEM! So this morning I put on a coat of Lash Blast Regular and then on top of that put the Lash Blast Length... it worked! full and long! Once again, should have taken a photo but it was early this morning!

I'd still recommend getting the Lash Blast regular over the new Length version.

Hope you all have a lovely day, and are looking wide awake even if you feel like you could do with another 4 hours sleep... like me!

NOTD – Ulta3 Hot Spring… Also an Ulta3 FAIL! & Update!

I have been AWOL for way too long and have missed my little bloggy blog! I've been battling a flu/chest infection thing which is blahhh!

I'm feeling better now and thought i'd best catch up on my posts that i've had photos taken for ages and haven't posted...ooooops!

First up is this NOTD (Nail Of The Day) and guess what, it's another Ulta3 polish! I love these!

This one is Hot Spring, which I believe is from the Spring collection last year. It's a pinky plum colour and cute. Application was a breeze and it was perfectly opaque in 2 coats. We are so lucky to have these polishes in Australia and the $2 price tag is beyond fantastic.

Here are some pictures, best representation I think!

Now I have some bad news... I've found an Ulta3 polish that I don't love!! what? no?

I tried this colour out last night, it was a big old mess. Overly Runny, Streaky beyond, needed 4 coats to get to opaque and the colour just didn't suit me.

The culprit? Spring Fling.

I was a little disappointed as I wanted to love this and the colour is what i've been looking for. Oh well you can't win them all right.

So glad to be back! I've got a few posts lined up so stay tuned for those!!

NOTD – Ulta3 Lily White

TGIF!!! Not only is it the end of the working week, it's also the day I get to see the new episode of The Vampire Diaries (my current tv obsession!) those Salvatore brothers are quite lovely...

Any-hoo, In school did you used to paint your fingernails with liquid paper? I did!

I once bought a white nail polish years and years ago because this lady started the trend. I can't believe i'm going to admit I took a fashion/beauty idea from this person...

Sorry I tried to find a picture of her rocking the white nail, but google was not my friend  so here she is doing a Viva Glam shoot.. Yes it's Pamela Anderson

I went back to my Ulta3 supplier and saw Lily White and thought i'd give this white nail polish thing a go again!

Unfortunately when I was applying it last night, I wasn't feeling the best and I think that shows in my sloppy application. Other then that I kinda love this colour! I  also haven't had a liquid paper comment yet so thats a plus.

Have white nails already been a trend recently? or are they a trend to come?

Now i'm off to watch the The Vampire Diaries :) Have a lovely weekend everyone! though i'm sure you'll hear from me before it's over!

Priceline Goodie Bag – I got mine!!

Did you read my previous post about the Priceline Goodie Bag? no? Click here to read it

As I mentioned in the post I needed a couple of things so waited until this came out so I could get the goodie bag (sorry I'm a sucker for samples etc!!)

I ended up buying the following - Revlon PhotoReady Makeup, Covergirl Lash Blast, Eco Tools Powder Brush... and they also had a deal where if you bought any Revlon face product you could choose a free eye product, So I picked up the Blackest Black Colourstay Liner Pen since i'm all into cat eye flicks lately.

So obviously I qualified for the freebie bag, here are some pictures of the big black bag and the contents. Then i'll write everything down individually including sizes etc.

The bag itself is quite good, not one i'd take out as an everyday bag but to take my lunch to work in or for a flight this is perfect!

Splendour In The Grass!

The lineup for Splendour was announced this morning...and woah it's good!!!

I'm hoping I can get a ticket because I know how quickly they sell out, perhaps the venue change will turn some people off?

I do have a slight dilemma though, I'm meant to be seeing 30 Seconds to Mars on the 30th of July (OMGZZJAREDLETO) the day Splendour begins... I guess I'll still keep my ticket until I know for sure I can get a Splendour ticket and then sell it?

Oh well, i'm sure you don't need to hear about my social dramas and want to know the lineup right?

Well here it is...

This year Splendour In The Grass is moving to the Woodford site in Queensland. It's a bigger space, which means more punters - and more live acts than ever. The entire line-up has just been released and it's massive!

A bunch of acts have been on the rumour lists for weeks - like THE STROKES, MUMFORD AND SONS, THE TEMPER TRAP and BAND OF HORSES - but there are plenty of surprises too.

Seminal indie rock band PIXIES will make their second trip to Australia for the year to play the festival and it’ll be their only Australian show for this visit. We’ll also see the return of PASSION PIT, FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE, LAURA MARLING and GRIZZLY BEAR who all sold out shows when they were here in January/February.

BAND OF SKULLS, SURFER BLOOD, ALBERTA CROSS, MIIKE SNOW, THE DRUMS and TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB will head over for their first ever Aus tour.

LCD SOUNDSYSTEM, BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE, MIDLAKE, FOALS, FRIGHTENED RABBIT, GOLDFRAPP, KATE NASH, JONSI (Sigur Ros) and BLACK REBEL MOTORCYLE CLUB will be here to showcase their brand new albums.

And we'll see the return of classic party acts SCISSOR SISTERS, THE TING TINGS and HOT CHIP.

Oh, and did we mention YEASAYER, ASH, BEN HARPER AND THE RELENTLESS 7, WE ARE SCIENTISTS, RICHARD ASHCROFT AND THE UNITED NATIONS OF SOUND, K-OS, DELPHIC, FAT FREDDY'S DROP, SCHOOL OF SEVEN BELLS and THE MAGIC NUMBERS?

Then there's a massive cast of local acts including ANGUS AND JULIA STONE, EMPIRE OF THE SUN, WOLFMOTHER, THE VINES, TAME IMPALA, PAUL KELLY, OPERATOR PLEASE, LISA MITCHELL, MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUTS, LITTLE RED, SPACE INVADAS, BRITISH INDIA, OH MERCY, THE MIDDLE EAST, BLUEJUICE, WASHINGTON, WHITLEY, DAN SULTAN, CLOUD CONTROL, MIAMI HORROR, CLARE BOWDITCH, PHILADELPHIA GRAND JURY, JOHN STEEL SINGERS, VIOLENT SOHO, THE MESS HALL, JONATHAN BOULET, BOY AND BEAR, GYPSY AND THE CAT, LAST DINOSAURS, ERNEST ELLIS, TIM AND JEAN plus more.

The DJ line-up includes BAG RAIDERS, VAN SHE TECH, ANNA LUNOE, KID KENOBI, YOLANDA, BE COOL, THE ONLY, PURPLE SNEAKERS DJS, MIAMI HORROR DJS, GRAZ and LEVINS.

This is the first year that Splendour will run over three days, from Friday 30th July to Sunday 1st August.

Tickets will go on sale at 9am EST on Thursday May 6.

NOTD – Ulta3 Pink Colada

Another day, another Ulta3 polish on my fingers.

This one is Pink Colada and while it looks quite red in my pictures it's actually more of a raspberry colour. Upon close inspection you can see the pink however from a distance I was told "ohhhh I like that red on your nails".

I cannot rave enough about these polishes, my last post was my first one i'd tried and after it staying on my fingers for 4 days without a chip (except for where 2 of my nails broke!) I can honestly say these are better then some of my more expensive polishes (OPI, China Glaze) and for $2!!!

Here are some pictures as I think this is always the best way to show nails! Taken in my jammies at 6am in the backyard, thank god your not seeing my face or you might be scarred for life.

Budget Beauty Tuesday – Fragrance! Britney Spears Fantasy

I apologise for not getting onto one of these last week. My boyfriend asks me every monday if I have something ready to post for "tight ass tuesday" (as he kindly refers to it) and honestly I haven't been shopping enough!!

However I shopped my stash of products this morning and rekindled a love for a fragrance which you can generally buy if you shop around for $25-$50 (Chemist Warehouse usually has the best price)

Say what you will about Britney Spears (personally i'm a fan, even through all her crazy) but this fragrance is really pretty. When I wear it i'm instantly thinking if cupcakes were a fragrance, this would be it.... yes i know cupcakes have a scent but if they were a perfume with notes this is what they'd be.

The notes in this fragrance are red lychee, golden quince, kiwi, cupcake accord, jasmine, white chocolate orchid, musk, woods, and orris root... CUPCAKE ACCORD!! what is cupcake accord anyway??

If you're a fan of Aquolina Pink Sugar you'd be a fan of ol' Britters fragrance too. I find Pink Sugar to be a bit headachy though and overly sweet but Fantasy is just perfect a hint of sweetness with a slight floral note.

I've also smelt her "Believe" fragrance and thought that was also quite pretty. I should really pick that one up next time I see it on sale... FYI that has notes of exotic guava and golden tangerine, middle notes of honeysuckle and hints of linden blossom and base notes of patchouli wrapped in amber and pink pralines

IMPORTANT INFORMATION AHEAD!!!!

Priceline have 20% off storewide today and tomorrow (13th & 14th)

You may be able to pick up Fantasy even cheaper :)

NOTD – Ulta3 Watermelon

I finally found a decent stash of Ulta3 polishes at a chemist!!!!!!!

I've heard so many good things about them from other bloggers and the vogue forums I knew they were a must try and everytime I went looking for them i'd find the bins but with about 3 colours that I knew weren't at all wearable for me.... until last night!

I ended up purchasing 6 colours and at $2 each that's really not breaking the bank at all! It's the cost of 3 coffees in the morning (which i've given up) so I'm entitled :)

Picking which one to wear first was hard, but I decided to go with Watermelon which I believe is a favourite amongst Ulta3 fans.

Application on this was fantastic, 2 coats of this creme polish had it perfectly opaque on my nails. I've only had it on since last night but after a day of heavy typing at work, housework when I got home and doing dishes with no gloves there are no chips in sight!

Here are some pictures from the photoshoot my nails and I decided to do at 6.30am this morning

Review – Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick

Firstly a shout out to the Vogue Australia forum where I was lucky enough to be one of the entrants to win one of the new Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipsticks! wooooo!

Basically you had to email your details and your shade, these lipsticks come under four collections which are Reds, Pinks, Nudes, Plums in a total of 44 shades! So I picked something from the Red collection. Mainly because i'm in a search for my perfect Red!

I was secretly hoping for one of the dark or bright reds and to be honest was a little disappointed when I opened my package and had received Summer Sunset which upon first inspection was a brickey brown red...not something I would typically go for.

As you might know from my previous post i'm doing the 30 Day Shred and thought why not put this on before I Shred and see it's lasting power...

I actually don't mind this colour on me, it works! Better then that however is the actual lipstick formulation! Staying Power was great it stayed on through my workout and also dinner and when it did fade it faded nicely and evenly. I also wore it to work today and it was still on at lunch time (faded slightly but nicely!) The finish is nice and creamy and feels hydrating. Dare I say these could actually be on par with some MAC lipsticks?

I'm going to check out the other colours in this range and perhaps get a few more. They retail here in Australia for around $17.95 but as always check out the department stores and Priceline as there are always deals to be had! I also saw them at Chemist Warehouse for $10 a couple of weeks ago.

Here are some pictures of the lipstick and some swatches.

Oh oh also! How pretty is the packaging!!! Well Done Maybelline!!
