Mask Madness!! Aptiva Express Beauty with Honey

On a little Saturday shop with Jade Musing, I picked up this mask to give a go. I knew I would be home that night and thought i'd treat myself with a little face mask (even though I have a ton still at home to use up....oh well)

We were going through the Aptiva stand at Priceline (yep it's a new range stocked there!) and thought about our troubles, mine being dehydration so I picked a mask in that catagory and went with Honey because well... Honey smells good!

So this mask is unlike any mask i've tried before, it's a very creamy/wet mask. It doesn't tighten on your face like i'm used to with masks so I could still easily sing along to Karaoke Box on MTV while it was doing it's magic. It smells great! The scent even lingers on awhile after you've removed the mask.

Did it do it's job? At first I thought no.... but then as the night wore on I noticed my skin was feeling very soft and looked super glowy! Yay winner!

You can buy this mask for a pack of 2 sachets (very handy indeed) for around $7.50 at Priceline.

Like how I managed to take this on a whirlwind tour to NY on the weekend, that's the Brooklyn Bridge and me and my mask!

Okay Okay it may just be my shower curtain :)

PolkaDot PR & Scunci Blogger Event

I was lucky enough to be invited by PolkaDot PR to attend a blogger event for the hair accessories brand Scunci... Thursday afternoon lunch with wine? I was so in!

10 lucky beauty bloggers got to hang out and have a delicious lunch, have a gossip and drink wine and hear about the hair accessory brand Scunci.

Scunci is a brand I have always had on my radar, I love their metal-less snagless hair ties especially because i'm a no fuss girl when it comes to my hair, and if it's a bad hair day (75% of the time it is a bad hair day) my hair is in a ponytail. So decent hair ties are always a must for me! Plus i'm always losing them, not sure how?

We were lucky enough to also be given a goodie bag at the event with a bag of Scunci items to try out, I've only had a chance to use one thing so far but I can already tell this is going to be a must buy for me from now on!

The evolution hair ties are a kind of silicone, rubber hair tie but boy do they stay put in your hair! Plus when you remove them you don't take a chunk of hair with the tie. They also feel durable and I feel like i'll get quite a bit of use out of one before I need to go onto a new one. The Evolution hair ties retail for $7.50AUD for a pack of 14.

Now onto photos from the event, my photos didn't turn out great so I apologize for that and I also didn't get many pictures of the bloggers who attended! BAD BLOGGER PHOTOGRAPHER I AM! :)

Thank you so much to Scunci and PolkaDotPR (in particular Beau) the day was so much fun!

It was also great putting some faces to the names I chat to on Twitter and Blogs I read daily :)

I Heart Eyeko!

I finally caved and made my first Eyeko order, they were giving out discount codes on twitter one day so I snapped one up and off I went to make an order!

Postage was quite quick from the UK, around a week and a half which I think is pretty standard.

Onto the pretties!

Eyeko 3 in 1 Cream

I believe this is the cult product in the Eyeko range, rightly so! As it's name states it's a 3 in 1 cream so a highlighter, moisturiser & primer. I've only used it as a highlighter and it's been perfect! I liken it to Benefit High Beam in colour but the texture is thicker and more moisturising.

Just a little bit of this dabbed on the upper cheekbones gives a nice subtle highlight/glowy look that we all love to achieve.

You get so much product in this little jar and you use so little so it's such great value! I also as usual have to mention the packaging, I love the cute pink jar but even more I love the box... cherry blossoms!! ahhhh I'm obsessed with cherry blossoms!

If you want to get your hands onto it you can purchase it from www.eyeko.com for $14USD or from Crush Cosmetics for $16.95AUD

Eyeko Grafitti Eyeliner Pens

I actually picked these up as an afterthought as I was filling up my shopping cart to qualify for 30% off my products. SO GLAD I DID! These are amazing, great line, great colour and the staying power is phenomenal!

I picked up the black and the Navy, this is my first foray into the world of Navy eyeliner but I like it for just a little bit of difference to my makeup. The Black however, basically has been on my lids for the last few weeks i've had the product. My daily makeup routine for work is generally no eyeshadow and just liner, so this has been perfect and I love that it doesn't budge!

The Eyeko Grafitti Eyeliners will set you back $8USD or $10.95AUD

Eyeko Military Polish - For Brave Nails

The main reason I wanted to try out Eyeko products were the wonderful things i'd heard about the polishes. I ordered a few different ones so i'm sure you'll see those in the coming weeks.

I decided to give the Military polish a go first, I'm right into these army green colours but unfortunately this one just didn't work for me... In even natural light it was a little too dark and became a nothing colour.

The quality of the polish however totally hit it out of the park, amazing! I only really needed one coat of this but as always did two out of habit. As for chipping, I had this on for almost a week and only had slight tip wear.

Can't wait to try my other colours!

These will set you back $5.50USD or $8.95AUD

Please note - photo was taken in artificial light

So you want to try out some Eyeko products! You can purchase them from www.eyeko.com or head to Crush Cosmetics if you want to keep it local. Keep in mind if you spend over $55 on www.eyeko.com you will get free shipping.

I also suggest following them on twitter as they often tweet discount codes and sales - Follow Eyeko!!!

Hello Soft Hair! Alchemy Macadamia & Wheat Protein Conditioner

Do you ever get that feeling after your hair is washed and it's so soft you keep touching it? Yes?

I have that right now!

The Alchemy/Akin brand has always been n my radar because of the natural ingredients they use and the fact they are Paraben and Sulfate Free which is an absolute winner.

The Alchemy Macadamia & Wheat Protein Repair Conditioner is targeted at people who need a little bit more care for their hair (oh wow i'm a poet....etc etc) which I definitely need, since my hair is coloured and heat styled the majority of the time my hair is quite damaged and needs that extra TLC.

Thanks to this amazing conditioner my hair is soft and manageable and rocking a fair bit more volume then normal. LOVE IT!

Also I have to mention the scent, it's Sandalwood but it's not crazy hippy strong Sandalwood it's a lovely subtle Sandalwood smell that always reminds me of my mum :)

I bought mine at Priceline where they stock most of the range, and I paid $14.50 for the smaller 225ml bottle (however I think i'll be getting this in the monster 500ml pump baby, plus some shampoo!)

Current Fragrance Loves!

First off a bit of a disclaimer on this post... I'm really bad at describing scents! If you do want to read a great perfume blog with great scent descriptions head to Girl With The Curious Nose

MOR Cassis Nois Perfume Oil

This fragrance is one i've had sitting on my dresser for awhile after it came in my goodie bag from the Primped event. It was sniffed and really not thought of again. Until a few weeks ago I thought I should give it a go... well a sniff does not to this fragrance justice! It's absolutely gorgeous!

MOR describe on their website as - The fragrance is introduced by sparkling Cinnamon Leaf, Bulgaria Rose and Black Currant that flirt with Star Jasmine in a warm seductive dance.

When I smell it I definitely smell the currant notes in it, it smells a little fruity to me with a warmth which I think is the cinnamon coming through very slightly. It smells to me like a grown up version of those Blackcurrant pastille lollies you get.

My only problem is it doesn't wear too long on my skin, so needs to be reapplied during the day. However since it's in a handy rollerball bottle it's handbag friendly and can be taken with you!

You can buy this from MOR Cosmetics, Myer and DJs. The RRP is $19.95 for 9mls

Can I also mention how beautiful the packaging is, I can't bring myself to throw out the cardboard casing because the pattern is absolutely gorgeous!

Kim Kardashian - Kim Kardashian

Confession time... actually not really if you read my twitter or have read my blog before you probably know I love my trashy reality shows and included in that bunch is of course Keeping Up With The Kardashians, I admit I love watching people who live a completely different and unrealistic lifestyle to me.

It was really only a matter of time before a perfume came out, I actually remember the episode where Kim was in talks about making the perfume and Kourtney & Khloe were mega pissed because they were going to do it together and call it Dash. I wonder what that would have smelt like? Well girls i'm kinda glad you took a backseat because I'm loving Kim's perfume!

The notes in this perfume are completely my type of scents. There is Jasmine, Gardenia and Tuberose with base notes of Tonka Bean, Jacaranda Wood and Sandalwood. Honestly I only ever smell the Jasmine, Gardenia and Tuberose and honestly depending on the weather it will change daily as to which is a more dominant note for me. For example this morning it was quite chilly and I smelt Tuberose and a tiny bit of Jasmine.

But guess what... I think Kimmy might have gotten a little bit of inspiration in her fragrance. My mum came and visited me for lunch the other day and I smelt her perfume and said "Ohhh did you buy the Kim Kardashian perfume too?" and she looked a little offended... and said "Nope it's my Michael Kors". I swear... complete dupe! I'll have to try mamas Michael Kors and see if it smells the same on my skin though.

As for the bottle, it's okay... I think the 100ml bottle is much nicer but I can hide this one behind my other pretty bottles on my dresser.

Where can you get it? Well I've only seen it at Priceline but i'm sure you can also find it online as well. I paid $39 for the 30ml bottle.

MOR Cassis Noir was a freebie in my Primped lookbook event giftbag

I had a crazy week last week, I saw Metallica on Wednesday night.... man they were so good! The boyfriend went on Thursday night as well and got 2 guitar picks. I got some pretty good photos from the night which I wanted to put up here but I've been lazy and haven't edited them yet. I do want to make something cool out of them maybe a canvas or something? Not sure! This is a very very young picture of them but it's kinda cool. Lars was wearing Jeggings on the night which I found totally unacceptable!

I love Guitar Hero / Rock Band-esque games! We played the new Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock a fair bit this weekend. I hated the Rush section we had to pass! I do like the Quest Mode though :)

Hope everyone has had a wonderful week and has a great one coming up :)  Keep Smiling!

Nails! Color Club Untamed Luxury & Wild At Heart

I recently placed an order with Transdesign and decided to try out a couple of Color Club polishes, a brand i'd heard great things about and had a few colours of on my list of wants.

The first one I tried out is from the recent collection of the same name. Untamed Luxury is a glitter suspended in a green jelly base, the glitter has flashes of blue and the green making it a pretty dimensional polish.

I did find it a little matte looking though and this was even after a coat of Seche Vite, so maybe a few coats of that is needed. It also chipped really easily which is a bummer because it's an awesome colour.

I actually mentioned on Twitter that this colour reminded me of Ariels mermaid tail from The Little Mermaid.

One of the other colours I picked up is absolutely awesome with a capital A! It's Color Club Wild At Heart which is a purple holo!! eep so amazing! I'm loving holos so much lately, and they look particularly cool when the sun is shining because you get the rainbow goodness from them.

Only thing I don't like and this could be more my limited skill is trying to capture how great the holo actually is in photos.

This polish applied like a dream, one coat and it was done but I did 2 because that's just the way I roll. Ignore the crappy application this was too pretty not to photograph right away!

Summer Essentials! Feat Dove, Neutrogena & Gillette

I think we are finally started to see a bit of warm weather here in Sydney, so it's a perfect time to tell you about a few things I'll be using for these upcoming warmer months!

Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash

The thing I love most about this cleanser is the scent, it's so amazingly summery and fresh smelling that I could happily use it as a body wash. I love that when I wash my face with this at night it feels so squeaky clean and I feel like it's really done it's job. I do find it a little drying though so make sure if you have dry skin to try and limit your use of this or do what I do and make sure you apply a really hydrating cream afterwards (I use this at night only and use my night cream afterwards). RRP $14.99AUD

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Daily Face Sunscreen Lotion SPF30+

If you ever learn anything from my blog, please make it that wearing a sunscreen everyday is essential (even if it's overcast outside). I've been using this Neutrogena one and loving it. I use the hydrating formula and what I like most is that it sinks into the skin quickly. I've recently learnt that you apply facial sunscreen first and then moisturiser, hands up if you were doing it the other way (I was!). The only thing I don't like about this product is the packaging, you really have to squeeze the bottle quite hard to get product out. RRP $14.99AUD

Dove Summer Glow Body Lotion

I really start to feel it's summer when I pull out (or go buy another bottle) my Dove Summer Glow! I started using this product when it was released I think about 2 years ago now and it's my absolute favourite gradual tanning product. I love the smell, to me it embodies summer. I buy it for myself in the medium/dark even though i'm quite fair but I find it just gives me the most amazing golden glow. As with all gradual tanners you apply this daily and it builds up to a nice colour. Once it gets too dark I switch to a regular body moisturiser for a few days and go back to this when it starts fading. If your not the best at applying fake tan this is an absolute fool proof gem! It comes in a bunch of sizes too, but I get the big bottle! RRP $6.99 - 16.99AUD

Gillette Venus Spa Breeze Razor

So it's beginning to get sunny outside, if your anything like me you've let your legs into such a terrible state that we may need to call in the tree loppers to take care of the situation. Enter a gorgeous razor that not only smells absolutely devine (white tea! yummmm!) but actually does the job and does it easily with a super close shave....plus it's pink which is a major plus in my books.

I'm not a waxer, I'm a shaver! I love the convenience of knowing if I have a bit of stubble on my legs and need to wear a dress or shorts, I can just go over my legs with the razor and go out the door with smooth legs.

I also adore the moisturising bars on this razor, it eliminates the need for another product in the bathroom and makes it such a good option to take travelling as well. Have I mentioned the smell? Yes? well again....YUMMMMMMMM!! RRP $18.15AUD (for the complete system)

I will be doing a few summer essentials posts in the future so keep a look out for those!

Most of these products can be purchased in Priceline and Supermarkets.

All products were purchased by me, except for the Gilette Venus Spa Breeze Razor which was sent for consideration.

Don't forget to wear your sunscreen!!! :)

Lush Baths are the BOMB! feat. Melting Marshmallow Moment & Candy Cane Bubble Bar

Hello Monday! I had a super fun weekend, first off I met some amazing Sydney Beauty Bloggers/YouTubers which was so much fun. However I'll do a  post about this and the bloggers who attended on Wednesday (stay tuned....).

Right now it's all about Lush, during the meetup we visited Lush and I picked up a few goodies which I'll talk about as I use them of course. When going in there I knew that night i'd be visiting my parents and their amazing large spa bath so I bought myself the Melting Marshmallow Moment & Candy Cane Bubble Bar to take over there with me and have a relaxing bath... ahhh bliss!

Melting Marshmallow Moment Bath Melt - RRP $8.50AUD

To use this just drop it into your bath and it slowly fizzes away, not quite as insane as a bath bomb though. I actually was scrubbing it over my skin as it was melting down and found it to be a nice gentle in bath scrub too (multi purpose...loves it!).

I'm a big fan of sweet smelling scents, so this was right up my alley! It smelt of musk sticks and marshmallow (actually very similar to the MOR Marshmallow Hand Cream I have sitting on my desk at work). One thing I loved about this product other then the smell was how it made my skin feel, it was super moisturising and made my skin feel super soft. The scent didn't really linger on me after the bath but that's alright I got the instant gratification in the bath. It also didn't turn the bath water a colour or stain the bath (which I think is very important to note). I would definitely buy this one again...and again... and again

Candy Cane Bubble Bar - RRP $6.95AUD

To use this product, just crumble some under the running water while you are running your bath and ta-dah! bubbles will form (you only need a tiny amount too so break it up as you need it)

I love Christmas at Lush!!! With the Candy Cane Bubble Bar I didn't even bother smelling it one when I saw it, I figured meh it'll just be peppermint scented... that was until the lovely Lara from Swatchgirl informed me that it was actually Snow Fairy scented. Ummmmm I'm slightly okay more hugely obsessed with anything Snow Fairy scented so it was promptly placed into my little cane basket and paid for.

When used I was in a mass of Snow Fairy scented heaven (and bubbles)! This is the first bubble bar i've actually used, I have bought them and then never used them. I now see the hype and will start using the ones I have accumulated in my Lush stash. When I stepped out of the bath feeling lovely and cosy and ready for a good nights sleep I also smelt like Snow Fairy. The scent didn't seem to be there in the morning but heading to bed smelling like my favourite scent was truly delightful! I think my bar will last me awhile because I don't have a ton of baths but if there are still some left in the Christmas sales I might pick up a back up.

You can purchase these products in any Lush store or online at http://www.lush.com.au

Images used are from the Lush Australia website. All products were purchased by me.

Dorky McDorkus loves Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips

Dorky McDorkus is what i'm calling myself in this post, due to my dorky photo which you will soon see.

Weekly I love to shed my nose of those disgusting little things we call blackheads and I do so with my Deep Cleansing Biore Pore Strips, they rip those suckers out like nothing else.  They RRP for $5.99AUD for a 6 pack or a mega pack of 14 strips will set you back $9.99AUD. Let's call this a bargain product shall we.

Totally simple to use, just wet your nose and pop on the strip, wait for it to dry (around 10mins) and rip that sucker off! Sometimes it dries a little too much so just put a little bit of water to moisten it up so removal is easy and a little less painless.

Once you've done this, look at the strip....GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGROSS!! I must be a little sadistic/weird but I love seeing those little blackheads on the strip after i've ripped it off. Gives me a sense of accomplishment.

Here I am modelling the must have fashion accessory of right now... The Pore Strip. To be authentic for the blog I took this photo exactly how I do my stripping (eek not that kind!) Straight after a shower, then while I'm picking my clothes for the day/getting dressed whoosh 10mins is gone and it's time to RIP THE STRIP (omg Biore you need to hire me as your new marketing person)

Loving... Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC) Lip Tars... Part 2

My part 1 swatches were a hit, yay! Glad you loved them. Now were going a little more daring in Part 2

If you missed my first post, I'll link to it right now - OCC Lip Tars Part 1 - Check out that post for info about the lip tars including where to buy them etc. This post will purely be swatches and talking about each one as I post the pictures. Enjoy!!

Grandma - Grandma is a pure coral, it's very bright and quite intense, it looks almost neon in my photos (taken in natural light). I prefer wearing this blotted down a little or with a gloss over the top to tone it down. It really is a must have however and would be a great colour to mix with others.

Pageant - Is a bright bright pink with a slight purple/bluey undertone. It's quite a dark colour on the lip and another one I blot down or pop a gloss over. In my full face pictures below the first picture is Pageant on it's own and the 2nd is with the MAC Resort Life Lip Gelee (from the Venomous Villans collection) over the top. I also smudged a bit on my upper lip... oops! :)

Trollop - Firstly, love the name! On Temptalia's website, she describes this as a watermelon pink coral and she's spot on! I was going to retake the photos of this but then having looked at other swatches, this is exactly how it turns out in natural light. Kinda neon looking! It's pretty cool but I think it really is quite a daring shade.

Link Love

Happy Hump Day Y'all!

I'm back with more link lovin' and of course my regular rambling about whatever I want afterward :)

Check out Am I There Yet? for some great reviews and ideas on how to rock tints!

You've Got Face let's us know about her Laser Hair Removal experience and lives to tell the tale :)

Jade Musing raves about Paulas Choice BHA 2% Gel, and reminds me I need to find my samples and give them a go!

Girl With A Curious Nose goes against the grain and admits to liking YSL Babydoll, which I am also a fan of!

Dee aka Miss Prissypants talks Cheap and Cheeful (my favourite subject!)

There are a few giveaways going on at the moment, I think everyone is getting into the Christmas giving spirit :) Here are a few I've noticed this week!

Gilded Nails is having a giveaway, you can win gorgeous Deborah Lippmann polishes!

You've Got Face has a great November giveaway, including nails, neon liners and some gorgeous bracelets with an amazing message.

An Obsession With The Fabulous has a fabulous giveaway! Including a bunch of great items, I'm eyeing that China Glaze polish myself :)

How was Halloween for everyone? It was very uneventful in my house, I'd bought choccies for the Trick or Treaters but no one came. Last year I had kids come a week before Halloween and I had nothing so I knew to be prepared. Now I have 2 bags of chocolate that i'll end up consuming myself!

I've been looking at the celebrity Halloween pictures, I have 2 clear favourites.

Heidi Klum - She & Seal always do amazing costumes, this one is freakishly amazing... you can't even tell it's her!

The other costume I looooooved, was my girl Snooki as the Pickle Queen! If you know me you know I adore Jersey Shore and in particular Snooki (admittedly she has only grown on me in this 2nd season).

Lauren Conrad aka LC as the Twitter bird, girl is cute! I love her style!

How did everyone go in the Melbourne Cup? I only put 1 bet on and went with Shocking... I think he fell asleep on the track!

On the weekend Boyfriend and I went into the city to pick up Metallica tickets for next week (yep, he's counting down like it's xmas) and I said ooooohhh since were here let's check out the new Westfield Sydney. So we did! It was cool but there is still a bit of work to be done. Something weird happened though when we were in Typo (I love that store!) I heard a massive loud crash, and being a sticky beak went and had a look. A phone cover stores cabinets fell in on each other, all glass... There was glass everywhere! Not a good start to opening week but they dealt with it really quickly and efficiently.

Another reason I wanted to go to Westfield Sydney was to try out the new burger place that Justin North has opened up called Charlie & Co. It was so busy, Justin was actually there making the burgers which was cool but we ended up lining up for about 20mins to order and then there was about a 30min wait on the burgers. Lucky I wasn't overly hungry. The burgers were A++++++ sooooooo good! I have a weak spot for a good cheeseburger so I went with the Wagyu Beef burger (with beetroot relish, pickles, cheddar on a brioche) and Boyfriend went with the Federation burger with Angus Beef, Cheddar, Fried Egg, Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato & Onion. We were going to share but once I bit into mine, I couldn't pass up any of it! We also went fancy and had Parmesan & Truffle Chips... There is only one way to describe the food really... NOMS! and pictures... ie food porn

This Saturday we have a Sydney Blogger/Youtuber meet up! I'm looking forward to meeting the girls I haven't met yet and of course seeing the lovely Jade which is always a pleasure :)

I also reached 50 followers this week! It may not seem like a lot to some people, but to me it's amazing! Thank you all so much for following/supporting my little blog. I do all this out of love and the fact I get to meet so many amazing people is just an awesome bonus :)

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick - Melonade

I have a problem, I am obsessed with bright lips! I was playing around in the beauty aisles at Target going on a lipstick swatching spree and looked down at my hand and all I saw were brights! Pinks, Corals, Reds, Oh My!

One of the colours I swatched was by Revlon in the colour Melonade from the current Summer Safari collection. I didn't buy it straight away but after my brain telling me non stop all week "Anita, you need that colour" and with the Target 25% off beauty prodz, it was like fate. I had to have it! So I hightailed it to my local Target after work on Thursday night, and picked it up for a measly $16! (25% discount is still on until tomorrow - 3rd Nov)

I'm so glad I did, I think this will be a summer staple shade for me and may even be the shade I leave in my handbag for touch ups :) (Currently that shade is MAC Lovelorn if you wanted to know)

This is my first lipstick from the Super Lustrous range and i'm really impressed. The pigment is great and it is moisturizing. The colour itself is gorgeous, a bright coral that isn't too much. Loooove it! It looks quite red in the tube on my photos but it's more pinky in person.
