The Pedigree Adoption Drive & Yellow Dog Day!

If you're a pretty regular reader of my little spot in the blogosphere you would probably know how much I love my dogs!

So this post is about something near and dear to my heart and something I support very very greatly.

Tomorrow June 4th is Yellow Dog Day which is the kick off for the Pedigree Adoption Drive, in partnership with PetRescue this is an initiative that has been running for 3 years now and has so far seen it raise $675,000 and last year rescued over 3000 dogs!

The Adoption drive runs from June 4th - 30th July 2010. If you are thinking of adding a furry friend to your family then this is the perfect time to think about adopting.

If you can't adopt there are a few other things you can do to help firstly and most easily you can go to the Pedigree Adoption Drive Website and donate. Or you can visit the Facebook Page and click "Like" and you will be donating a bowl of food to a rescue dog, tell your friends to do the same.

Why is this so important to me?

My Pug is a rescue dog, I found her on PetRescue in fact! I was actually looking for a way to re-home a stray cat that had decided to take residence at our house but we could not keep and I stumbled upon the dogs, and knowing Penny Lane (my Boston Terrier) needed a friend I started looking into it more and found this gorgeous black pug...

She was surrendered by her previous family because they had a baby so didn't want a dog around anymore, she also required soft palate surgery for her breathing which the people who took her in actually paid to have done (this was before I got her). I think that is amazing and understand that this is where these donations go.

I think that the people that donate their time by fostering these dogs are the real heroes!

Missy (Minnie as we all call her) has become so much a part of our family you wouldn't know I got her when she was 2. She absolutely adores all of us and vice versa. She is my baby :)

If you are adamant that you do want a puppy, please do your research and go to a registered breeder.

My other baby is from a registered breeder because we did want a particular breed but I would never ever buy from a pet store or backyard breeder... nononononononono.

Another dog rescue place I support is www.doggierescue.com.au if you want to also check them out.

Thank Tumblr It’s Friday #3… plus something extra :)

It's come around again, Friday!!

I've been neglecting my blog once again this week because i've been so flat out at work as soon as I get home I want to watch bad reality shows and switch off completely.

However I have a weekend of blogging planned!

Here are my inspirational/fun/melikey pictures from this week on tumblr, plus a little something extra at the bottom... added cuteness I guess :)

where did these photos come from?

Have you noticed I haven't included any dog pictures yet, namely Boston Terriers & Pugs... that's because I may as well just feature the most adorable of these breeds... MY DOGS :) excuse the photo quality, these are from my trusty iPhone.

Penny doesn't look very impressed here, but they do really love each other :)

Minnie's eyes look weird here, her eyes are jet black in person :) I have a feeling she's getting cataracts :( but her sight is fine and the vet said I have nothing to worry about. I'm such a worry wort furmummy :)

This right here is my favourite face ever! I love when I can see her tiny little bottom teeth I know that sounds weird but they are really really cute... well she is as well of course :)

I'm going to try and take more photos of them each week to add here, I seem to get a lot of positive feedback on my doggie pics, so may as well feature my own 2 supermodels :)

Awwwwwww…..

I've been meaning to do this post for ages and since i'm feeling a little under the weather tonight (I think it was the nachos I ate at the markets today) these girls always cheer me up so thought it would be right to post about them.

Meet the most adorable girls in my life, my dogs :)

First up, meet Penny Lane

We got Penny when she was 8 weeks old, Now 3 (almost 4) she's a Boston Terrier and the most amazing dog.  Incredibly intelligent and the sweetest dog ever.

Her favourite thing to do is kiss and cuddle... no seriously, here she is in her element with me. Mind the fact I look like crap haha but I think this is a cute picture of us :)

This is my other baby Missy (or Minnie as we all call her)

Missy is a pug and we got her just over a year ago from Pug Rescue, she is the same age as Penny which is great and they are the best of friends :) We wanted to get Penny Lane a friend because she was getting a little restless on her own.

Boston Terriers are quite hard to get and we were on a wait list for a pup but then I found this little girl and am so glad I didn't look back.

Missy is a mummy's girl because she follows me everywhere and needs to always be with me. The picture above she is with her favourite toy in the world, her Kong!

Here she is in her winter wear, yes my dogs wear hoodies in winter.
