Thank Tumblr It’s Friday #3… plus something extra :)

It's come around again, Friday!!

I've been neglecting my blog once again this week because i've been so flat out at work as soon as I get home I want to watch bad reality shows and switch off completely.

However I have a weekend of blogging planned!

Here are my inspirational/fun/melikey pictures from this week on tumblr, plus a little something extra at the bottom... added cuteness I guess :)

where did these photos come from?

Have you noticed I haven't included any dog pictures yet, namely Boston Terriers & Pugs... that's because I may as well just feature the most adorable of these breeds... MY DOGS :) excuse the photo quality, these are from my trusty iPhone.

Penny doesn't look very impressed here, but they do really love each other :)

Minnie's eyes look weird here, her eyes are jet black in person :) I have a feeling she's getting cataracts :( but her sight is fine and the vet said I have nothing to worry about. I'm such a worry wort furmummy :)

This right here is my favourite face ever! I love when I can see her tiny little bottom teeth I know that sounds weird but they are really really cute... well she is as well of course :)

I'm going to try and take more photos of them each week to add here, I seem to get a lot of positive feedback on my doggie pics, so may as well feature my own 2 supermodels :)

Something to ponder…

A bit of randomness for a Tuesday morning is always a good thing!

So i've shamefully, or shamelessly? become addicted to a little show called Jersey Shore (gotta be said in the Jersey accent or it doesn't work!)

I spent the weekend watching these Guidos and Guidettes do their thing... not sure really what the their thing is but I think it involves drinking, gel, hairspray and fights? oh and hooking up! They loooove to hook up!

Upon watching the show I made a little discovery, and honestly you can thank me later!

Does anyone remember the adult only game of Leisure Suit Larry? Don't deny you played it when you were younger... I did anyway :)

When I first laid eyes on Mike "The Situation" I thought wow he looks like someone familar.. I'm half italian myself so I thought no it's not a relative, who is it?

Then it clicked... Mike "The Situation" and Leisure Suit Larry are twins... evidence is below!

Mike "The Situation"

FYI - I finished that game... I don't remember mine being in 3D? or do they just call it that because it was better graphics?

So if they ever decide to do a movie based on our favourite Lounge Lizard, Mike "The Situation" needs to be the frontrunner!!

Have a great Tuesday everyone :)

Orly Sweet Collection…. mmmmm looks lovely!

I just got send information about this new collection and had to pass it on, the colours look absolutely gorgeous!!

The collection is the Sweet Collection and it is limited edition, and us Aussies are getting it!!

After Orly got a bit of buzz by being the only nail polish brand getting featured at fashion week comes this new collection full of fun pastel creme colours.

The colours from l-r are

Pixy Stix (opaque raspberry crème), Lollipop (smooth lilac crème), Lemonade (lemon sorbet crème), Gum Drop (light turquoise crème), Cotton Candy (peachy pink crème) and Snow Cone (chilly blue crème)

Without swatches yet, so far i'm liking the look of Pixy Stix & Snow Cone the best.

I'm sure price is what you're asking, and yes they are in the higher price point for polishes. $18.95 per bottle in fact, but if you are like some that are boycotting OPI at the moment this is a great alternative as these polises are pretty comparable to your OPI's and the like.

These colours will be released here in Australia on 1st August, which is perfect timing for Spring :) Don't they scream spring to you? :)

When I get my hands (and nails) on a couple of bottles from this collection i'll be sure to swatch them.

Now for stockists, Click Here for a list of stockists. See I even get the direct links for you :)

Do you think you'll try out any of these colours? Or do you think the pastels are a bit overdone?

New MAC collection… oh my i’m excited!

I love all things Disney, especially old school Disney movies (remember a time when there wasn't 3D? :) ) Although I have heard they are re-releasing Beauty & The Beast in 3D... I will be there opening weekend!

I just read on one of my favourite beauty blogs Musings of a Muse about the new MAC Venomous Villans collection, which is all about Disney villans!! AMAZING!!!!

There is a little video here on the MAC website which shows the villans... I can't pick them all though.. help?

Video - http://www.maccosmetics.com/vv_landing/index.tmpl

It will launch in the US in September, so I guess that means Octoberish? for us in Australia?

I can't wait to see pictures of the products and especially the packaging!!

Revlon PhotoReady Foundation – My Thoughts…

Apologies if you have gotten this twice... for some reason it posted before I was finished... grrrrr

Rather then call this a review, i'd rather call it my thoughts as it's more about how it has done for me.

I bought this awhile ago now and wanted to fully trial it before giving any thoughts on the product.

Here is a picture of the bottle (not my own, it's from http://www.revlon.com.au/)

This is what the Revlon site has to say about this foundation -

Delivers soft, luminous airbrushed finish in any light

•Photochromatic pigments bend, reflect and diffuse light to erase every flaw

•Complete yet undetectable coverage

•Oil free, Fragrance Free

•SPF 20

___________________________________________________________

Onto my thoughts about it, for a bit of background on my skin it is quite dry and especially at the moment since the weather has gotten colder in Sydney. I also have quite a bit of redness in my cheeks so I need a fairly decent coverage foundation to cover that up.

I apply this one with my fingers, it blends quite easily and it doesn't set as quick as the ColorStay foundation. I found the coverage was a light/medium coverage on my skin which for me is okay for weekends when i'm going to the shops and only want a little bit of makeup on (if any at all). However for work I like to look more "polished" so prefer my ColourStay as it has a better coverage.

I also found that this foundation enhanced the dryness to my skin a little and that I don't like.

Quite a few people have mentioned the "sparkle" factor in this as well, I didn't notice myself looking like a Cullen in the sun however up really really close I noticed a slight shimmer. I didn't hate it though!

As for how it photographs, I apologize I don't have any pictures of me with this on... I think I deleted the ones off my camera I took a little while ago. I honestly don't really notice a difference anyway to any other foundation that I use.

Overall it isn't a bad foundation, would I repurchase? No... For one thing Revlon is quite expensive here in Australia, correct me if i'm wrong but the RRP of PhotoReady here is $37.95, that's certainly not "cheap" in my books. The good thing though is you can often get deals at the department stores and Priceline, I got mine with a free eye product of my choice so that sweetened the deal a little.

Have you tried out this foundation and did it work for you?

Also, RIP Ronnie James Dio :( It's a sad sad day in the metal community today.

While i'm not a major heavy metal fan I do appreciate some of the music, my boyfriend however is a big fan of all things metal and through watching a ton of documentries on the subject that often featured Mr Dio I became a fan, not so much of his music but moreso of him as a person. He always seemed sweet to me and really really loved what he did.

Plus he apparently invented the devil horn hand gesture, which even if you're not a metal fan i'm sure you can appreciate.

Thank Tumblr It’s Friday!

Gotta love a cheesy title right? :)

I'm going to try and do this as regularly as I can and I hope I can every week...

Basically i'll just put a series of pictures from my tumblr account that i've come across that are relevent to me or inspirational, funny, cute, whatever from the week.

I love tumblr and looking at the amazing things people put on there! I will credit every single picture I use with the tumblr account it comes from so if you are interested in checking that person out you can. Also a language warning as some of the tumblr accounts have profanities in their names... so just be mindful if your not a fan of that kinda thing!

Enjoy!! (expect to see a lot of Boston Terries & Pugs)

What a lovely postman!

How nice is it to get home from a long day at work and find that in your letterbox there aren't any bills, just lovely things to brighten up your evening... this happened to me yesterday!

First I got my mail, as usual dreading the bills that generally fill it! I was pleasently suprised to find, no bills and just a lovely letter from Priceline with a voucher for $9... Thanks Priceline!

Then underneath my Priceline letter, folded in half was this -

Thanks to my electricity company I have a 2yr subscription, and this is the latest issue. I haven't had a look through it yet but it will be on my list of things to do while relaxing this weekend. Only gripe is the cover girl, I'm not the biggest Nicole Kidman fan. Oh well it's free so i'm not really going to complain!

Then walking up to my doorstep, there was a package!! I knew what it was because i'd be waiting forever for this package to arrive. I made an order a few weeks ago on http://www.ezibuy.com.au/ when they had a sale and i'd been waiting over 2 weeks for my goods to arrive. I even sent them an email yesterday, oops it's here now!

This is what I got -

Urban Sweatshirt Blazer (the arms are massive though!)

Urban Boyfriend Blazer

I've been looking around for Blazers that aren't black and I like for ages! They fit quite nicely except for the arms on the grey one but I think I need to scrunch them up like the model? Overall the shopping experience was okay... I think i'd only buy stuff on sale there due to having to wait so long for shipping. I mean I've had things arrive from overseas quicker then that! I do however like receiving their catalogues in the mail. Mainly because I don't get catalogues to my house, which I don't understand considering I live in a pretty big part of Sydney... ahhh I love catalogues and miss them so

Now i'm off to stress myself out getting Metallica tickets for my boyfriend and his mate... for some reason I've been made the designated ticket buyer because apparently I never miss out... This just all adds to the stress!

Have a lovely day everyone and keep smiling :)

Weekend – Nail Polish, John Mayer, Macarons…

What a busy weekend! I'm looking forward to the next weekend and doing nothing but sleeping in, watching foxtel and maybe a little baking!

So instead of breaking this up into a few blog posts I thought i'd do a full one with all details of my weekend and pictures etc.

First off...well not officially part of my weekend  but on Thursday night I popped into Sportsgirl (as I often do) and checked out the new nail colours.... what did I find... a dupe of this little colour

This is the current "It" colour, if you didn't know already. The Sportsgirl version is called "Milkshake" I think maybe because it's sort of the colour of cocopops milk, or a chocolate milkshake (only crunchy!!)

Here is the Sportsgirl one on my nails, I didn't think id love this colour... but I do :)

On Saturday I had a family wedding, which I didn't take any photos at. My dad did the photography so i'm sure I got in a few pics.

Then mum and I headed into the city to stay overnight at the Holiday Inn @ Darling Harbour for our John Mayer concert / Mothers Day. We went to Starbucks a few times... yes I'm obsessed with Starbucks (Caramel Frappucino Light)

On our way to sbux, we saw the Birthday of the Buddah festival was going on, this was a really cool setup and people were praying around it. So colourful!

After a not very nice dinner in Chinatown, we headed to the Entertainment Centre to take our seats for John Mayer... front row... yeah!!! My first time ever being front row at a sit down concert! I thought everyone would sit, but no they got up so we had to as well. I took a lot of photos... over 200!

John Mayer was fantastic, despite all the media shit that surrounds him he is a fantastic musician and Saturday night was no exception. The set list alone was perfection with me squealing before almost every song because I was so happy he was playing them :)

The other guitarist was so awesome and funny :)

Then after John Mayer we went and got Starbucks...again... see a pattern? :) I also wanted to go to Lindt Cafe and have waffles and hot chocolate, but they weren't doing food so we picked up some macarons!! yummm! We got Passionfruit Delice, Champagne & Coconut

On Sunday morning we had breakfast on the harbour which was lovely, and then went home because it was my little babies 4th birthday... which little baby? Penny Lane!!

Her favourite thing in the world is McDonalds Chicken Nuggets, so that's what she got for her birthday. I think she was a happy girl :) My mum had to feed them to her of course :) She ate 8 and Minnie got to have 2... oh well it was her birthday! I can't believe she's already 4, it seems like only months ago I was picking her up from the airport when she was a baby.

After a great weekend, it's back to work and the regular day to day! Looking forward to next weekend... they really aren't long enough!
