Manicure Monday - Glitter Gradient...again

It's no lie i'm a fan of the glitter gradient, sometimes you want a bit of sparkle but not an entire nail and thats when gradients are perfect.

This time i've gone a bit different from my normal gradient and worked it from the cuticle downwards...oooooooooooo

For this look I used OPI Samoan Sand and Essence The Huntsman (from the new Snow White & The Seven Dwarves collection). The Huntsman is absolutely beautiful, with different sized gold & bronze glitters and flakies which sometimes flash as green in different lighting. So beautiful!

OPI Nail Polish retails for RRP $19.95AUD from various department stores and can also be purchased online from Adore Beauty.

Essence is available from Target & Priceline stores nationally. The Huntsman is a limited edition nail polish and retails for RRP $3.95AUD.

Straya (Australia) Day and why I will never be a nail artist...

This will be short and sweet because it's 1am and i'm in bed, I also have an eye on Come Dine With Me. Do you know how much I love Come Dine With Me? no? well I do!

So today is Australia Day.. HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY!

I love the chance to theme my nails so I went with a green and gold (notice how the gold in green and gold is always yellow and never gold?). I also decided to try and use my dotting tool (DOTTING TOOOOOOOL!) which was an absolute failure as you'll see below! Thank god I only decided to do it on the accent nails... nail fail indeed.

I used Butter London Cheeky Chops for the yellow, love the name and love Butter London but this isn't my favourite of polish's but it was the yellow shade I was after for this particular mani. The green is Ulta 3 Tahitian Lime, really pretty and nice to work with but you need to do around 3 coats because it's quite sheer.

Again...nail fail ahead beware!

Wow...no words!

How is everyone spending their Australia Day? I have a family tradition of listening to the Triple J Hottest 100 and doing a bit of a competition based on how the songs we voted for went. I'm hoping to vlog this but knowing me i'll forget to film all day, you don't realise how often this happens!

Subject change over....Nothing to see here...Bye!

Butter London polished retail for RRP $22.00AUD and can be purchased online from Adore Beauty. Bit of a tip though, they regularly come up on the deal websites like OzSale, BrandsExclusive etc for around $10 a bottle.

Ulta3 retails for RRP $2.50AUD and can be purchased at selected pharmacies and there is also a small range stocked at Target.

Manicure Monday - China Glaze It's A Trap-Eze & OPI What's With The Cattitude

Welcome to another Manicure Monday (on Tuesday...oops)

I wanted something a little fun on my nails this week so decided to finally use my China Glaze It's A Trap-Eze polish. This is a multi coloured glitter suspended in a milky white base...AH-MAYZING. I'd never used this before so wasn't sure if it would work on it's own, I think with 2 coats it would go pretty opaque but just to be certain I paired it with one of my favourite baby blues OPI What's With The Cattitude.

OPI is sold at David Jones, Myer & selected stores across Australia. You can also purchase OPI from Adore Beauty - RRP $19.95AUD. This colour is now discontinued but can be found on various e-tailers websites.

China Glaze is available from Crush Cosmetics for RRP $10.95AUD. It's A Trap-Eze isn't currently on the website and I do believe it is quite hard to find, so again e-tailers might be your best bet.

REVIEW: Models Prefer All In One BB Cream

It feels like BB creams are the new black, every brand is bringing out their version of these creams from skincare to makeup brands. I've only ever tried 2, the first being the Garnier Miracle Perfector Cream which I wasn't a huge fan of.

I've never really tried any Models Prefer products so thought this might be a good product to start with.

This is what the description says - "Primes: conceals imperfections, refines pore appearance and helps control oil. Enhances: smooths and evens skin tone for a flawless finish. Protects: promotes healthy skin with UV repair system and SPF protection.

Refine pores. Evens complexion. Boosts hydration. Controls oil. SPF protection. Healthy glow. Wear alone or under foundation for more coverage. Oil free, paraben free, fragrance free, D5 Free." (Source: http://www.priceline.com.au).

The SPF of this product isn't noted on the packaging I have contact a PR for Models Prefer and will update this if they get back to me with an answer.

This BB Cream comes in 2 shades - Light or Medium. Being so sheer it's not a huge deal if the shades don't match your complexion entirely. I purchased Light and it matched my skin quite well. You will find a lot of the BB Creams are quite yellow based as well, so keep that in mind when skin matching.

The coverage on this BB Cream is definitely light/sheer. It even says on the packaging you could use it as a base for your foundation for more coverage, but personally I like this kind of product for the weekends when i'm not wanting to do a full face of makeup but want to try and hide some of my skin imperfections. I also set it with a powder to make it last a little longer and provide me with a tad more coverage. I found it covered up my redness a little bit but it was still noticeable until I put the rest of my face on. I could have used a concealer, but to be honest I couldn't be bothered.

I find this product sinks in really nicely and provides my skin with some moisture, which is what my skin needs as it is quite dry. In terms of reducing pores I didn't really see a difference and I've only been using this BB Cream for a week so can't really comment on any long term skin advantages.

I have shown in the picture below the BB Cream in action on my face, also check out my YouTube video to see me applying it.

It's a nice product for an affordable price. Models Prefer have another BB Cream out in their skincare line which i'm not 100% sure if it is the same product or not. The packaging is quite different but the price is the same.

You can purchase the Models Prefer All In One BB Cream from Priceline stores & Priceline Online for RRP $12.99AUD.

Where is my mind? Blog Updates!

Source: http://weheartit.com/entry/49715049
It's a new year (almost 3 weeks in, in fact). While i'm not one for new years resolutions I do like coming up with new plans in the month of January, and this blog is the one i've been focusing on mostly. I just thought i'd update you on what my plans are for 2013 with Pink Dynamite. I'm hoping by writing it here I stick to my goals to bring you an even better blog this year.

  • YouTube - I really want to focus on my channel this year and bring the blog and channel more together, my plan is to do a video for the majority of reviews I do. I love watching YouTube reviews because I see the product in action as opposed to simply a photo. There will still be those of course but I want the two to co-incide more.

  • Vlogs - I started a vlog channel with Ange this year - check us out! This is where I want to put videos that aren't beauty related, maybe some cooking videos, day in the life (though that's pretty boring lol), fitness etc.

  • Social Media - I've fallen behind on twitter loads lately and need to get back into it, I'm still loving Instagram but I want to work more on getting the facebook page for this blog (just started!) and pinterest page going a bit more.

  • Regular Blog Posts - This is where i'm struggling, sometimes finding motivation to write, photograph, edit etc is hard but I really want to try and stick to a schedule and bring at least 3 posts a week to the table. I bought a diary specifically to write my ideas and schedule ideas in so hopefully this helpls.

  • Old blog / New blog - I decided i'm going to start transferring the content from my old blog over here. I was finding at times i'd write a post and want to link an old blog post but be linking to my old blog. This just makes it all easier for me and hopefully you as well. So there will be 300 blog posts for you to read rather then the 49 odd I had here before.

  • Commenting - This is replying to comments on both here and youtube and also commenting more on other peoples blogs. I love getting comments, it shows me you guys are reading what i'm saying and I enjoy engaging with you. Let's keep it up!

I think that's about it for now, I hope you enjoy the slight changes i'm making to try and make my blog better for you and for me. See my new signature, that's so you can find me on all my little areas I like to hang! I'll update this if I find new ones of course :)

REVIEW: Britney Spears Fantasy Twist Perfume

I have a confession to make, I'm a Britney Spears fan and I'm not ashamed of it. I stuck by her through her breakdowns and through her comeback. I even went to her concert (and paid over $200 for the ticket) and although she lipsynched her way through it and her dancing still isn't like it was when she started, I had a blast and would do it over and over again.

This isn't a post about my love of Britney, more my love of her fragrances and the cool new little twofer she's released!

The Britney Spears Fantasy Twist is a connect able duo of her popular Fantasy fragrance and Midnight Fantasy fragrance. I actually own both of these fragrances anyway but having them in a single bottle makes it easier to take with me in my handbag or travelling. The idea is that Fantasy is to be used in the daytime and Midnight Fantasy is for the evening (though I use both on either occasion)

I'm definitely no fragrance reviewer so i'll list the notes and give you my thoughts on each one -

FANTASY - Fantasy is a sensual and gourmand scent. It opens with fruity mix of lychee, golden quince and kiwi. The provocative heart is composed of jasmine and white chocolate. The base combines orris root, musk and woods. Source

This is the first Britney fragrance I got and I loved it from the beginning. I'm a big fan of the sweet smelling gourmand scents and this checked all the boxes. Perfect for younger girls (although I still proudly wear it!).

MIDNIGHT FANTASY - In the top notes there are exotic Framboise, black cherry, and plum. The heart features an harmonious dialogue of night orchid, freesia and iris. Amber, musk and vanilla create a dark and warm trail. Source

I would have to say when I wear this scent I always get asked "Ohh what's that your wearing?". Then a look of surprise when I tell them it's Britney. This is one of my most favourite scents I own, it's incredibly long lasting and smells rich and delicious.

Each half has 25mls, I do believe you can purchase a 100ml (50ml on each side) as well. The packaging is lovely and comes apart really easily it isn't too fiddly which is what I was concerned about.

I purchased this from Priceline for $59.00AUD

This little set would make a great gift idea, even for someone who is just starting their perfume collection as they would automatically have a day (fantasy) and night (midnight fantasy) fragrance choice at their disposal.

Have you tried any of Britney's scents, should I try others?

Are you also a closet Britney fan?

Manicure Monday - OPI My Private Jet & Ulta3 Over The Rainbow

This is my manicure for this week, well it was until it failed miserably and chipped within a day... see evidence after the pretty pictures!

I decided I wanted to try out my new Ulta3 Over The Rainbow polish which is a multi coloured glitter which everyone and their dog has bought a version out of over the past few months. I only used 1 coat over 2 coats of OPI My Private Jet.

For Ulta3 you can pay anywhere between RRP $2-$3AUD and check out their facebook page to see a list of stockists.

OPI is available for RRP $19.95AUD from the usual stockists and online at Adore Beauty

Ulta3 Over The Rainbow - Is a densely packed multi sized, multi coloured glitter. These are becoming quite common amongst nail brands but I like this because you get great coverage with just 1 coat (as I used). The brush isn't the greatest but for around $2.50 a pop who would complain.

OPI My Private Jet - A favourite colour of Kim Kardashian, and mine. We do have something in common it seems! This gorgeous dark brownish grey has tiny silver flecks throughout and it's also slightly holographic. A strange combination but one of OPI's most stunning colours in my opinion.

Of course as always the top coat used was my Seche Vite (which i'm running dangerously low on!).

Usually I find OPI My Private Jet is a well wearing polish but for some reason it went to chip city within 24 hours of application... disappointing :( See the results for yourself.. MEH! -

Instamonth.... Yep I'm a bit behind!

Decembers gone it came and went....

Gold star for you if you can tell me who sings that song!

So I was doing well with my Instaweek posts...then as mentioned above...December came and went, without an update. Oops!

So in lieu of that I have a Instamonth for you for December. I couldn't put everything in here because I took a lot of photos in December it seems. However, if you follow me on instagram (@vulcanella) you can go have a sticky beak at what i've left out.

I'll get back into my Instaweeks this year, pinky promise!

Check out my instagram for the full size pics, sorry they are so small I didn't want to do a billion collages.

  • I went to Adelaide (or Radelaide) for the first time in December with my mum, this is a street I passed called Penny Place (I wish it was Lane...there are some around, I should steal one).
  • Driving to the Barossa Valley I saw a sign to "One Tree Hill". So tempted to go visit Lucas, Peyton & Co but it wasn't to be.
  • Lunch at Maggie Beer's Farm Shop - We had the Pate Basket & Cheese Basket...it was so good, I am still dreaming about that Freekeh salad!
  • We spent the morning at Hahndorf and one of the ladies in a cafe told us we should check out Monarto Zoo, an open range zoo not far from Hahndorf. It was amazing and I highly recommend going if you're ever in Adelaide.
  • We bought the 2 Zoo pass so we could also check out Adelaide Zoo, so here I am with Bambi doing selfies.
  • I met a giant tortoise and fed it! So cool!
  • Back home and Shane entered a weightlifting competition at our gym. Sadly, he didn't win but by default he really should have! Long story!
  • First Christmas manicure of the year - Blog Post
  • All the glitters! I went a little glitter mad in December with my polish purchasing.
  • I went to the opening of the new Gloss flagship store in Parramatta and got a cool Watermelon manicure - Blog Post
  • My mini Xmas tree, We don't have room for our big one because we have a new big comfy couch but I still put my Starbucks decorations on the mini one.
  • Hanging out with my girl Ange doing what we best, slurping up a FroCo!
  • Mum and Dad got a new baby Indian Ringneck Parrot (bird?) it's name is Bruiser and it's blue/grey.
  • This is a decoration on my parents Xmas tree that I did when I was in primary school.
  • FroYo! I discovered Yogurberry in December and have been back multiple times.
  • Teriyaki Salmon Bento Box that I had when we went out for my Dad's birthday dinner.
  • You So Pugly pj's from Big W, at only $9.98 as if I wasn't going to buy them!
  • Chowing down on a Grill'd burger, I also went to Yogurberry again after this... obsessed...
  • Christmas Eve manicure - Blog Post
  • Penny Lane at the table on Christmas Day - I swear she thinks she's human sometimes (and so do I!)
  • Couldn't put a Xmas hat on one and not the other, Here's Minnie sporting the latest in cracker fashions.
  • ONE OF THE BEST MEALS OF MY LIFE! Went out for dinner with my Aunty & Uncle in Melbourne (yep we also went to Melbourne to see Shane's family after Christmas). The restaurant was Red Spice Road and I can't recommend it enough!
  • NYE Nails - Blog Post
  • Lunch with Mum at the newly opened Al Aseel in Burwood - sooooo good!
  • Holding hands with Cali, my friends English Bulldog on NYE at their house. I also tried rabbit & venison the same night - rather adventerous of me isn't it?
Thanks for reading if you made it through this far and I promise my updates won't be so spread out again!

I hope everyone had a lovely 2012 and look forward to sharing more of my instagrammed life with you in 2013!

Empties & Chuckers

I love empties posts! I unfortunately never finish things quick enough to do one every month but I want to start doing them more frequently, which means I need to remind myself to not chuck things in the bin before I blog.

I had a few empties and a few products that I just want to chuck because well let's face it, they're shit.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light Medium - RRP $47.00AUD
I loved this product and i'll be keeping the packaging so I can hopefully do a Back 2 MAC sometime this year. The finish of this is just beautiful, it looks like your skin but flawless and it can be used either to set makeup or built up as its own foundation. I would repurchase but the price is kinda on the exxy side! Buy it Here!

De Lorenzo Nova Fusion Silver Shampoo - RRP $22.90AUD
This is absolutely my holy grail blonde shampoo, I have a few issues with it in the fact it can be quite drying but I mix it in with a moisturising shampoo to try and counteract that issue. The truth is that this is the best shampoo I have found for keeping my blonde hair in check and not looking yellow or dull. Definite repurchase, I'd actually better hurry up and buy it again. Buy It Here!

Aveeno Positively Radiant Moisturiser - RRP $19.95AUD
I purchased this after I ran out of the Aveeno Ultra Calming Moisturiser which I loved, I'm pretty sure I saw it on special. I do like this moisturiser but I don't love it. I think I'd stick to the Ultra Calming Moisturiser for my skin in the future. Buy It Here!

Covergirl Natureluxe Silk Foundation - RRP $18.95AUD
I have done a full review on this foundation on my old blog - Linky Link!
Love this! Would purchase it again and read the review to hear me gush about it. Buy It Here!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation Serum Gel - RRP $32.00AUD
This is one of my all time favourite foundations and I've mentioned it in many favourites blog posts, videos etc. This is raved about by many other bloggers as well. It's perfection for dry skin and just feels like a second skin. Would repurchase over and over again! Buy It Here!

Now to be a bad news bear and let you know about the products i'm not going to even bother with and will be going straight into the bin (or someone elses hands if I feel they could use it)

You, Me & Everybody - Shady Lady Daily Face Milk - RRP $8.99AUD
This product came in one of my beauty subscription boxes (sorry I can't recall which one). To be fair it's not a terrible product but I found it balled up on my skin and just didn't feel nice. I have other SPF products I can use so this will not be missed. The price is good but it just didn't work for me. Buy It Here!

Prestige Browliner Eyebrow Pencil - RRP $11.50AUD
One day while out shopping I wanted to buy a new eyebrow pencil and stumbled across this in a throw out bin in Target for around $2... I understand why it was in the throw out bin! There is absolutely no pigmentation on this pencil to get anything out you need to press real hard and I don't like doing that anywhere near my eyes. This is terrible! It's going straight in the bin. Buy It Here! (if you dare)

NYE Manicure feat. Models Own

Hi 2013!

The other night was New Years Eve and while I don't make a big deal of it anymore (i'm ollllllld!) I still like any excuse to get the glitters out :)

I decided to give my Models Own polishes a go, and I wouldn't have these if it wasn't for the amazing Chelle! She gave me the Aqua Violet shade and she organized a Models Own order before Christmas so I got the Mirror Ball Collection.

Models Own isn't available in Australia but you can purchase them online at http://www.modelsownit.com and the shipping is quite reasonable and not to mention quick!

For this look I did 2 coats of Models Own Aqua Violet and topped it off with 1 coat of Models Own Freak Out! The colour reflects in Aqua Violet were similar to the glitters in Freak Out! So I thought they made a good combo!

One thing I will mention is the glitter polish was a real pain in the ass to remove so the foil method was the only way I could get the glitter off and remain sane!

What nails did you rock on NYE?

Product Disclosure: Aqua Violet was gifted to me by my friend and I purchased Freak Out! with my own money.
