I love Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters!

This post is a long time coming, i've had these for months! In fact I bought them on Ebay even before they were released in Australia. They've been out for a few months now and I thought i'd still post this because they really are amazing and one of my favourite releases this year.

Revlon Lip Butters are in the same vain as the sheer/moisturising/glossy lip colours that the higher end brands were all bringing out.. think Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks with a fraction of the cost (well if you buy outside of Australia ;) ).

Let's talk packaging and how much I love it. I was already a fan of the packaging of the regular Colorburst Lipsticks but these are quite cute with a sheer matte case in the corresponding colour to the lipstick. This makes it easy to find the colour your after in the morning unlike other nondescript lipstick packaging (Looking at you MAC).

The formula is lovely, it's smooth and gives a little shine to the lip. One thing I will mention though is that these are VERY soft so be careful. Maybe chuck them in the fridge on hot days if they seem to be melting at all.

As mentioned before I bought mine as a set on Ebay entitled brights included Cherry Tart, Candy Apple, Tutti Frutti, Sweet Tart & Lollipop (I love the names of these shades too!) these were all the colours I wanted to try anyway so it worked out well and I think I paid around $50 including shipping. FYI These retail for $21.95AUD in Australia.

Out of all the colours I have, Sweet Tart is my most used and most loved!

Revlon are absolutely kicking it out of the park with their recent lip released, and I heard on the grapevine (twitter...) that the new Just Bitten Lip Stain Balms are rolling out in Priceline stores. I can't wait to get my mitts on those and I'll be sure to let you know what I think.

You can find the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters in the usual department stores and pharmacies that stock Revlon products and of course Priceline.

These items were purchased by me.

NP Set Palettes galore! Glam Set & Red Carpet Set (Pic Heavy)

Ahhh Napoleon, to be honest i've not tried very many Napoleon makeup products, I bought a lipstick once on a whim and I actually really like it!

These palettes are from Napoleons more "budget friendly" range NP Set which is available in department stores (Pretty sure BIG W has a sale on these products this week...go go go). I honestly can't see the difference between these more pocket friendly products and the normal range, so for me it's pocket friendly each time.

I was sent these palettes to try out (eons ago... yep bit slow on the ol blogging front over here) and I thought they were the perfect option for someone just starting to get into makeup (younger girls, i'm looking at you!). At a very wallet friendly price of $29 each you get yourself 4 lovely eyeshadows which are nicely pigmented, easy to blend and with a kick ass eye primer hold out throughout the day. You also get 4 lipglosses (to be honest i'm not a fan of these, just because it's a bit impractical to take this palette for touch ups) and lastly, there are 2 blush colours!

Onto the sets, you have a choice of 2 sets which makes life easier... ask yourself the question are you a neutral girl or a little more daring?

The Glam Set is for your more neutral loving girl, the shadows in this are right up my alley and the 4 shades compliment each other really nicely and make for some nice easy eye looks.

The blushes are meant to be a contour and highlight blush I think, these did not work for me at all. The darker colour was just too dark for my fair skin, it may however work for you.

Here are some close ups of the palette and some swatches

Sorry I didn't bother doing the lip glosses, the swatches I tried were way to sheer and really didn't show anything at all.

The Red Carpet set is a little brighter and bolder, you can experiment a little more with the eyeshadow colours while still maintaining a quite neutral look if thats what you prefer.

When I first received this the thing I was most excited about was the blushes in this particular set... bright bold and exactly what I am into right now, the blushes on their own are fantastic and highly pigmented but I made a little discovery! Mixing these blushes together gives the most perfect pinky coral cheek....quite similar to one of my favourite blushes, the limited edition MAC Ripe Peach blush. I did a swatch of the colours blended together on their own so you can see for yourself.

Ahhh I just love them mixed together!!!

So overall these palettes are a nice addition to my makeup collection, personally if I could choose i'd have the neutral eyeshadows with the 2 bright blushes and no lip glosses in my ideal NP Set palette.

If your interested in purchasing this you can find NP Set at Target, Big W and now TVSN!

Products mentioned were provided for my consideration, please read my disclosure policy for further information.

Oooooo a high end lip gloss... it's Chanel too!

So i'm pretty much a Priceline aisle girl who occasionally dabbles in the higher end brands like MAC, Nars etc and to be honest i've always thought that some of the designer brand makeup was a bit of a rip off... I mean I can't really justify paying almost $50 for a lip gloss just because it has a designer logo on it (now removing self from high horse).

However it has always kind of intrigued me if the products are really worth that high price tag, and thankfully we have places like Strawberry Net where we can pick these products up a little cheaper and if you are a regular shopper there with your discount on top of that lower price. So I decided to try out a bit of Chanel and I took a safe bet on a lip gloss because even if the colour doesnt suit me I could easily try and manipulate it with a lipstick underneath etc.

I picked the Chanel Aqualumiere Gloss in Glass Quartz #69 (giggle!). Judging from the colour swatch on Strawberry Net this isn't the kind of colour i'd usually pick for myself but I did my usual searching for swatches on blogs and saw it was actually a really pretty wearable everyday colour. That's exactly what it is, it's a sort of rosey colour that looks natural on the lip.

The applicator is a brush which is something I haven't had before in any of my other glosses and it's a welcome change! The wear on this gloss is also pretty decent, lasting up to 3-4 hours even through my regular morning coffee and breakfast.

So do I think these designer brands are worth the extra $$'s... they are nice and the packaging is lovely but I think i'll be sticking to buying these sort of brands off the discounted websites, sorry Myer!

This particular gloss currently retails for $32AUD on Strawberry Net at the moment.

Lipstick Lovin' with MAC See Sheer

Back in October when I had a MAC makeover done the Make Up Artist put a crazy bright coral lipstick on me (from the Venomous Villans collection) which normally i'd love but with the rest of my look it was a bit OTT. So I suggested maybe a more muted neutral coral...little did I know we'd discover what is probably my most versatile and favourite lipstick I now own!

See Sheer honestly goes with everything, It's a Lustre formula which is my favourite type of MAC lipstick formula and it's just so darn wearable!

I highly recommend picking this up for your stash, or even just giving it a go

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick - Melonade

I have a problem, I am obsessed with bright lips! I was playing around in the beauty aisles at Target going on a lipstick swatching spree and looked down at my hand and all I saw were brights! Pinks, Corals, Reds, Oh My!

One of the colours I swatched was by Revlon in the colour Melonade from the current Summer Safari collection. I didn't buy it straight away but after my brain telling me non stop all week "Anita, you need that colour" and with the Target 25% off beauty prodz, it was like fate. I had to have it! So I hightailed it to my local Target after work on Thursday night, and picked it up for a measly $16! (25% discount is still on until tomorrow - 3rd Nov)

I'm so glad I did, I think this will be a summer staple shade for me and may even be the shade I leave in my handbag for touch ups :) (Currently that shade is MAC Lovelorn if you wanted to know)

This is my first lipstick from the Super Lustrous range and i'm really impressed. The pigment is great and it is moisturizing. The colour itself is gorgeous, a bright coral that isn't too much. Loooove it! It looks quite red in the tube on my photos but it's more pinky in person.

Loving... Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Coral Crush

Firstly... I know it's colour.... but for search terms etc when referring to these lipsticks i'll have to use color.

So one thing I noticed when seeing looks from NYFW (New York Fashion Week of course darlings!) and you know I was there right next to Anna.... no not really but lets pretend I was. One of the big trends was a bright lip and for us Aussies going into the warmer weather a bright lip is perfect!

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="480" caption="Fendi Spring 2011 (image taken from style.com)"][/caption]

I've said it before i'm kinda new to the whole lipstick thing, being such a lipgloss girl for so long i've only found my true love of a great lippie in the past year. I'm also not that experimental either, always sticking for neutrals and muted colours..... that's changed a little... I will declare it before each and everyone of you (5 people or so who read my blog haha) I LOVE A BRIGHT LIP! It makes you look more awake, makes you stand out and just looks awesome.

I was in my home away from home the other day... aka Priceline and wandering through the aisles looking for something fabulous to share with you all. I stumbled upon one of my favourite range of lipsticks (Maybelline Color Sensational) with a 2 for 1 offer. YAY!. So into my shopping basket I popped Pink Me Up which i've been lusting after for awhile and went away merrily swatching finding another colour to get. This is where I found Coral Crush.... It's a perfect spring colour pop shade! It's quite sheer so you can layer it on lightly or go for a more dramatic look with a few layers (my pictures are a few layers). It's not too bright that it looks like you've slapped some fluro zinc cream onto your lips but it just has that amazing pop of colour that is begging to be worn right now and coming into summer.

These lipsticks retail for $16.95AUD but I believe the 2 for 1 offer is still on until Thursday. I just checked the Priceline catalogue and next week they have $3 off Maybelline products. FYI Rimmel have a 2 for 1 lipstick offer next week too....so I may check those out too :)
